About the joint permanent grave at Shokoji Temple
We should not be overly concerned about graves. "It is I who enter the grave," but "it is the Pure Land that enters the grave." The grave is a place for those left behind to reflect on themselves and recite the Nembutsu.
It is only the person himself who thinks, "I have no relatives, so no one will come to visit my grave." Only those who think and say this are the ones who end up with people coming to visit here and there. It is not up to you to decide whether someone will come to visit your grave or not. It is up to the other person to decide. What you should do is not to take away the other person's choice to "come to visit the grave."
Let's stop thinking about pointless things such as the silly preconception that those who enter a joint permanent grave are "lonely and pitiful people" and the possibility that others may think so. It's only you who thinks so.
Rather, a joint permanent grave is a grave community. You can enter the grave while maintaining a comfortable distance from other people. It is a truly modern grave.
Whether you are burying a loved one or preparing a tomb for yourself, please make full use of it as a base for your own introspection and Buddhist prayers.
A donation of 200,000 yen is required to use the joint permanent grave. If you would like to use this service, please contact us by phone or email.
