Report on the June Sutra Calligraphy Event

The May holidays are drawing to an end. I'm glad the weather is nice, but it's a bit too hot. It was a summer day with a temperature of 30 degrees on the day. I'm worried that the plants will die from lack of water.

Despite the heat, the most eye-catching flowers are the purple orchids. They are also loved by locals, as they were displayed in the cemetery. Next week is set to be a rainy week. I hope to make the most of this long holiday until the last day.

On the day, 18 participants were concentrating on introspection through copying sutras. There were fewer participants than expected, probably because the good weather had lured them away somewhere far away. That was a wonderful thing in itself.

Starting this month, the chief priest's talk will be distributed in advance in print. I hope that it will be of great help to people as they face themselves.

The content of the reconfirmation was "equipped with precepts." It is a time when it is easy to get sick after the long holiday. It is especially at times like these that we should not forget what we have reflected on and should discipline ourselves.

As always, the sutra copying session ended with a prayer to the Buddha, wishing all participants peace and tranquility until next month.

If you wish to participate in the sutra copying session, please apply in advance by phone or email. If you come on the day without a reservation, we may not be able to provide you with a seat. Thank you for your cooperation.
