[Minami-Urawaen] Obon Festival

Hello♡

This is Shokoji Nursery School Minami-Urawa Branch.

The Obon Festival was held the other day.

The event was divided into three parts: the first part was for the Hikari and Tsuki groups, the second part was for the general public, and the third part was for the Hoshi group.

The children all seemed happy when their rooms were decorated in festive style!

Some of the children in the Star Class were remembering last year's festival.

On the day of the festival...

The atmosphere was lively with children wearing colorful yukatas and jinbei. Some mothers even came wearing yukatas.

Bon Odori music was playing in the background, creating a great atmosphere!

The children were surprised by the change in the atmosphere in the room, but then they seemed to feel relieved as they saw their friends coming in one after another, and they looked at each other with smiles and joy. The tense atmosphere immediately eased as the children were overcome with laughter.

First, we all danced to the beloved "Anpanman Ondo." Some of the children were shy, but they all held hands with their moms and dads and seemed to enjoy moving their bodies.

Now, it's finally time to start!

A staple at the stall was "yo-yo fishing." Children skillfully manipulated the large ladles to get their favorite color! They carried them around happily.

"Fishing" - Fish are caught by attaching them to magnets, but the little ones had a hard time. But with the help of their moms and dads, they tried again and again!

Every child's expression lit up when they caught a fish.

"Bowling" You can choose between a big ball and a small ball, but most of the children chose the small ball and tried their best until all the pins fell. The people around them cheered, "Go for it!" and when all the pins fell, they applauded.

"Making a Fan" - Stick stickers that look like seeds on a watermelon, then stick on beetles and stag beetles to complete the project. The stickers that look like seeds come in all different sizes and are very colorful, making for some very unique watermelon fans that make you think, "It would be fun to have a watermelon like this!"

Finally, there is the "string lottery." At the end of the string is a favorite Anpanman or Pikachu candy. Even if the candy is different from what the child had in mind, none of the children minded.

I was happy to receive some sweets.

On the way back, we took a group photo. Everyone looked satisfied and had lots of smiles on their faces.

The Obon Festival was so much fun. I hope this will become one of your fond summer memories!
