Handmade Kamishibai (Paper-Scissors)
There are many passionate people in the local area who are engaged in various activities for the people involved in the area. We are also involved in several initiatives with the hope that we can do something together.
One of these activities is "Shurir" (organized by the local Souseisha HIDEN), which takes place at the temple every month.
Shuriru is working to extend the healthy lifespan of the elderly and promote their participation in society through cleaning temples, and is affiliated with Professor Watanabe Hiromi's seminar at Toyo University.
In addition to cleaning, students from Toyo University created handmade picture stories and read them to the children at Shokoji Nursery School in November.

In December, we will be cleaning the Iwabuchi Daikannon statue at Shokoji Temple (a cleaning ceremony).
Every year, local residents, students, and children and parents from Shokoji Nursery School gather to clean the Kannon statue.
Kannon is said to be able to remove seven hardships and three poisons from people, and grant two wishes.
If you live nearby and are interested, please come along.
