One day, in the grounds of Shokoji Temple, I experienced a small, moving moment, accompanied by a gentle spring breeze.
The head priest, Takahashi, took a shovel and did something surprising… he planted a cherry tree seedling himself 🌸
He looked very polite and serious, but also seemed to be having fun, which made me smile just watching him.
Touching the soil in the soft sunlight and planting the future -- that's the kind of time that passes at Shokoji Temple.
