Apparently he passed away suddenly.
Regardless of the circumstances, the death of a loved one is sad, and when they pass away suddenly it can be difficult to accept the situation.
Those who have passed away will never appear before our eyes. They will never speak. But they will still be watching over us. Absolutely.
This is because we can see the figures of our loved ones with abilities other than our eyesight, and hear the voices of our loved ones with abilities other than our hearing.
All we have to do is live each day to the fullest, relying on this feeling that we are being watched over.
And in the end, we will all die the same way. Absolutely.
Where do we go when we die? The Pure Land. What kind of place is the Pure Land? It's written in the scriptures. However, even the fact that it's written in the scriptures is difficult for us to understand. Even if we read it, it's completely confusing.
To avoid any misunderstanding, I would like to add that you can understand the content by reading it. However, it is extremely difficult to understand it. The difference is whether you can put it into practice.
The only thing you need to understand is that there is a paradise far out in the west. It is a wonderful place. Your loved ones will be able to live there happily. And we too can go there when we die. That's it.
Ultimately, humans are born, live, and die. That's all there is to it. We are currently struggling with the "living" part of that process. To alleviate this, even just a little, we use funerals as a place to face our loved ones, to reflect introspectively, to reaffirm the important things, declare our resolve, and chant the Nembutsu so that we can live our lives well from now on.
After all, funerals are for the living.
At a small ceremony attended by three family members, they kept this firmly in mind, recited the Nembutsu, and declared their determination for the rest of their lives.
