Hello, this is Itabashi Station Garden 🎶
This time, we will bring you the details of Setsubun 🫘

This year, we started preparing for Setsubun from late January, reading picture books and making masks and demons with the children so that the children could enjoy participating in the event and become familiar with it. At first, the children seemed to think that the word "demon" was scary, and some of them looked anxious, asking "Are demons coming?" and "Demons are scary."
However, as we enjoy singing and dancing and reading Setsubun picture books repeatedly during our daily care, we start to hear children say things like, "The demons aren't scary," and "It's fun!" Little by little, we are beginning to see children start to look forward to Setsubun👀✨

As the day of Setsubun approached, the children were looking forward to it even more as they decorated the rooms with masks that they had made together with the children so that they could wear them whenever they wanted during play, and the children were also dressed up in Setsubun costumes so that they could enjoy themselves and not be anxious on the day.
Setsubun Day 👹
The children came to the kindergarten in high spirits in the morning, and looked excited as they said, "We're going to get rid of the demons!" 🤭 When the event started, they were ready with lots of beans in both hands❗️They threw beans at the big demon that we all made together, saying, "Demons out!" 👏🏻When they ran out of beans, they picked up the ones that had fallen and threw them with all their might, some with happy smiles, and some children, including 0-year-olds, who heard the energetic voices and looked on with interest, asking, "What's that?" 💖Afterwards, the God of Fortune came, and we all sang and danced to our favorite Setsubun songs, making for a very lively event🌸

On the way home that day, each child received a letter from Chibi Oni-chan, who they had come to love through Setsubun, to help them enjoy the afterglow of Setsubun. 👦🏻👧🏻 They were seen looking happy at home and some said they had enjoyed Setsubun, so they were able to fully enjoy the seasonal events while sharing the joy with their friends, caregivers, and parents. 💕
