Hello, this is Itabashi Station Garden 🎶
This time, we will show you how to peel a mandarin orange as part of our dietary education program.

In an effort to get people interested in mandarin oranges, I put up pictures of various citrus fruits in my room in January❗️
The children noticed and started talking to each other while looking at the picture, saying, "It's a mandarin orange! I've had this before✨" and "What kind of mandarin orange is this?" 🤭 When I told them the names, "They look similar, but they're all different kinds," they became interested 👀 They looked happy when I told them, "Let's go to the greengrocer's to buy some next time💖

On the day of shopping, the children were excited from the morning, saying, "Today we're going to buy oranges," and on the way to the greengrocer, they were full of anticipation, asking, "Are there any oranges?" and "When should we eat them?" 🌟
Even at the greengrocer, they enjoyed shopping by doing what they could on their own, asking questions like "Is this an orange?", "I'll take it to the register," and "I want to pay for it myself." 🛍️ On the way home, the children took turns to carry the oranges until the very end, and when they returned to the kindergarten, they carried them to the cafeteria with bright smiles saying, "I bought some oranges." 🎶

When it was time to peel the oranges, the children sat happily on their chairs and listened to the teacher's instructions and instructions on how to peel them with serious expressions on their faces.
When they actually picked up the mandarins, they smelled them and carefully peeled them. Some children found it difficult to peel, but when the caregiver peeled them back a little, some children were able to peel them by themselves little by little. When they finished peeling, they looked happy and put the mandarins they had peeled into their mouths.

I felt the children's growth as they tried to do things by themselves through shopping and peeling, and it was a scene that gave them joy and a sense of accomplishment by being able to do it themselves 🌟 I want to continue to cherish the sight of children saying "I want to try" and "I did it" 💕
