Monthly memorial service for memorial service and self-reflection
As the name suggests, Shokoji Temple's monthly memorial service is a regular ceremony to hold all kinds of memorial services together. First of all, Shokoji Temple is a Nembutsu training center. Whatever we do, we first chant the Nembutsu. We place great importance on introspection (self-reflection) in order to spend each day chanting the Nembutsu with a peaceful mind. Shokoji Temple's monthly memorial service is an open ceremony that can be attended not only by those who wish to hold a memorial service, but also by parishioners and the general public who wish to chant the Nembutsu and engage in introspection (self-reflection).
The monthly memorial service is a joint ceremony, so those who wish to participate will gather together to perform the service. On the other hand, we can also accommodate those who wish to just hold the memorial service without participating.
Furthermore, this ceremony is not necessarily for parishioners only. We will also respond to requests from the general public.

The various memorial services, including those held at monthly memorial services, are ceremonies aimed at facing the object of the memorial service, engaging in introspection (self-reflection), and chanting the Nembutsu so that the person will live a peaceful and happy life from now on and be welcomed into the Pure Land at the end. Therefore, it is very important to be present when a memorial service is held.
We can offer a wide range of memorial services, including memorial services for stupas, memorial services for memorial tablets, memorial services for needles, and memorial services for dolls. The common thread through all memorial services is the heart (soul) of the person who cherished the object. Through memorial services, we come face to face with ourselves.
Of course, even if you don't have a memorial service for someone, you can still participate in the ceremony and engage in introspection.

Today, one person requested self-reflection, and we held a memorial service for auspicious items and a stupa. Thank you for your continued support next month.
