It's getting pretty cool now. We didn't receive any applications for the monthly memorial service in October, but we will hold a memorial service for those connected to Shokoji Temple.
I went up to the main hall, determined to perform my duties properly, but there was nothing prepared. I thought maybe I had not explained my situation well to the staff, so I headed to the temple office to check.
As expected, "What, are you doing it today?"
However, thanks to this failure we were able to share the understanding that from next time onwards we would definitely work there regardless of whether or not someone applied.
As it turned out, someone had come to the temple office wanting to participate on the spot, and fortunately we were able to guide him around the sutra copying session.
We recited prayers, praying for wonderful days in October as well.
