Hello, this is Shokoji Nursery School in front of Itabashi Station.
This time, we will bring you the Obon Festival.
We enjoyed watermelon smashing and the festival.

During the watermelon-smashing session, the children were full of enthusiasm, holding the watermelon-smashing sticks and looking forward to their names being called one by one!

As the watermelon splits open, he looks happy and says, "It smells so good!"
When we saw the watermelon break right in front of our eyes, we all clapped our hands in delight.

Parents were also invited to join in the festival, having fun going around the various booths selling shaved ice and yo-yos.

The highlight of this year was the new crocodile-smacking event, which saw children swinging hammers with total concentration. It was so popular that some children had so much fun that they had trouble moving on to the other booths!

Children enjoy playing at the nursery with their parents in a different atmosphere than usual.
At each booth, the way of playing varied depending on the age group, and it was a great time for the parents to feel their children's growth and to look forward to their future growth 👦👧

We hope that this Obon festival will be a fun summer memory for the children and their parents.
