[Kitaurawaen] Obon Festival

Hello. This is Shokoji Nursery School Kita-Urawa.

It's been hot every day.

The other day we held a lively Obon festival.

In the craft corner, you can make "watermelon wind chimes" and "sunflower wind chimes" by putting dot stickers on plastic cups.

I drew my favorite pattern with a marker.

In the fishing corner, the children reeled in many of the fish they had caught during daycare.

For yo-yo fishing, the children used a ladle to scoop up balloons of their favorite color, and their parents used paper strings to hang them up. It was so cute to see them struggling to decide which color to choose!

The adults were serious! They applauded when the boy was successfully lifted up.

At the end, everyone gathered together and a giant watermelon appeared in front of them!

We all tried tapping it to see what kind of sound it would make.

"Pop pop!!"

We all had fun breaking watermelon.

The children had a hard time breaking it...

With help from our moms and dads, it finally cracked open.

We all enjoyed the meal. Perhaps it was because the atmosphere was different than usual, but we ate more than usual.

There were some children who could eat it.

Although it was a short time, we had a great time with the family.

I hope this will become one of your summer memories.
