Report on the Sutra Calligraphy Session
Under the scorching sun, the chirps of the cicadas were a pleasant sound. This year's Tanabata was blessed with good weather, so many people must have looked up at the night sky.
Despite the scorching heat, 11 people participated and everyone was intent on practicing self-reflection through copying sutras. As the head priest was absent on the day, only copying sutras was conducted.
Due to a malfunction of the air conditioning in the main hall, the air conditioning stopped working, so we moved to the waiting room on the first floor, but two people wanted to continue copying sutras in the main hall. This was a slightly different format from previous copying sutra events, but everyone seemed to be able to calm their minds and concentrate.

At Shokoji Temple, we hold a sutra copying event on the first Sunday of every month. Anyone is welcome to join, so please feel free to come along. The next event is scheduled for August 4th.
