[Itabashi Station Garden] Cabbage tearing

Hello, this is Shokoji Nursery School in front of Itabashi Station.

This time, we will show you how to do food education "cabbage tearing" ☀️

The day before food education.

I went shopping with my kids for cabbage to use for tearing cabbage.

The children looked a little nervous when they arrived at the greengrocer for the first time this year.

As I walked around the store with the teacher, looking for cabbage and looking at various vegetables, my tension gradually eased and he told me about vegetables he knew, such as "This is a carrot🥕"! After finding cabbage, we discussed which one to choose💭

When I chose a large cabbage, the waiter said, "I'll take it," and carried it to the register himself.

"I'm going to do cabbage tomorrow" she said, looking very excited 😊

The next day was the day I was looking forward to, the cabbage tearing day 🌱

First, everyone took turns holding a big cabbage 🤲🏻They all looked happy and smiley, saying it was "heavy!"

After that, we started tearing the cabbage, enjoying it with all five senses by actually cutting the cabbage in half and looking at its cross section and smelling it!

The children tear off each piece with serious expressions on their faces.

When he was able to tear it by himself, he showed us a happy smile and said, "Hehe, I did it💕" ☺️

Sometimes it was hard to tear off the hard core, but I kept trying to do it myself.

After tearing them all off, we carried them to the cook, saying, "Please give us a delicious school lunch🍴"

We saw the children showing interest in the vegetables after tearing them apart and even trying to take a bite. We hope that through food education in the future the children will become interested in various ingredients and enjoy school lunches.
