The weather was calm, in stark contrast to the strong winds of the previous day. During the ceremony, the doors of the main hall were fully opened, and the calm air from outside was let in. The sound of the water in the basin, the birds singing, and the rustling of the trees all invited us to a deep state of introspection.
Today is a prayer meeting. Participants will put their wishes into a Hoto (sacred tablet) and offer prayers. What thoughts and feelings did they have as they took part in today's ceremony? Everyone is enjoying a quiet moment.
As always, the ceremony ends with everyone chanting the Nembutsu. Each and every thought of the chanting conveys determination for the days to come.
