Soran Bushi
On the last Wednesday of every month, Shurir holds community activities at Shokoji Temple.
In February, we had the opportunity to experience the Soran Bushi dance. Local people tried their hand at the dance with the help of students from Toyo University.
We are being taught in a fun and easy-to-understand way how to move our bodies in time with the music, when to call out, and more.

This is like pulling a net.
Not only were the students great at teaching, but they all quickly learned the choreography and didn't forget to shout out their energetic calls!
"Where does it go, where does it go?"
It was also very refreshing to hear the Soran Bushi music playing in the main hall of the temple, and the lively voices echoing around.
"Soran, Soran"

The next cherry blossom viewing will be on Wednesday, March 27th, and the children from Shokoji Nursery School will join in. If you live nearby, please come and join us. (For details, please check the notice posted in the temple grounds.)
