[Itabashi Station Park] Playing with building blocks

Hello, this is Shokoji Nursery School in front of Itabashi Station.

The theme this time is "Playing with Building Blocks."

At our nursery school, we provided all staff with the opportunity to watch and learn about playing with building blocks.

Playing with building blocks is an expressive activity that fosters creativity.

It is said that the most important thing in playing with building blocks is the "environment." The standard size of a building block set is called the "base size," and this order of the "base size" is necessary to express freely with building blocks.

Even for small children, it is important to play with building blocks that have the same base scale. If you use building blocks with the same base scale, you can stack them perfectly, so that alone is fun. As they get older, you can mix blocks with different base scales to enjoy the difference in size and have fun thinking about how to make the heights the same.

After receiving the video training, we devised a way to dynamically shape various children's ideas, as it is important that the children have the most fun. When playing with building blocks, always having a place where they can play with building blocks and having reference photos ready can also increase children's interest in building blocks. After receiving the video training, we immediately secured a large space where children could play with building blocks and put up reference photos in the room. The children noticed the photos on their own, imitated them and made things, saying "I'm going to make this!", and we could see them freely making things they imagined and having fun ⭐️

By taking the same training course for the entire kindergarten, we can share what we have learned, discuss "what we can do now and what we can put into practice," and create an environment where children can discover, think, play, and learn on their own.

We hope to continue expanding children's play through various training programs in the future.
