We would like to report that we held our sutra copying event in November.
In November, we welcomed first-time participants and explained to them that the goal is not to "write beautiful characters." In addition, Shokoji Temple places importance on introspection through chanting Buddhist prayers and copying sutras, and this time the head priest spoke about "what introspection is."
During the copying of sutras, everyone seemed to be able to calm their minds and concentrate.
Next month the event will be held on Sunday, December 3rd.
This will be the last sutra copying session of the year, so please join us as an opportunity to reflect on the year.
We will provide you with further information as the date approaches.
There is no need to apply in advance, so please feel free to join us on the day. (Please arrive 5 minutes before the event and, as a general rule, please refrain from entering or leaving during the event.)
