We are pleased to report that the 2023 Juyakai ceremony has been held.

Unfortunately, it was raining on the morning of the day, but about 15 parishioners gathered. (Thank you for attending despite the bad weather.)
Before COVID-19, we would invite artists involved in music, entertainment, etc. to come and perform, but this year, as the COVID-19 situation had calmed down and this was the first Juyakai in a long time that everyone was able to participate, we went back to basics and focused on chanting the Nembutsu together with everyone.

A passage from the Muryoju Sutra, the scripture on which the Jodo sect relies, teaches that this world is full of worldly desires and suffering, and that chanting the Nembutsu (practicing good deeds) for ten days and ten nights is far superior to practicing good deeds in the Buddha's world, and the Ten Night Ceremony puts this into practice.

This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has calmed down, and we held a memorial service, including Buddhist ceremonies and monthly sutra copying sessions, placing importance on praising the Nembutsu throughout the year. It is not easy to reflect on yourself in your busy daily life, so we hope that you will use these opportunities to reflect on yourself.
We hope that you will gather again next year for Buddhist services and sutra copying sessions, so that we can chant the Nembutsu together, reflect on ourselves, and use this as a foundation for living each day with vitality.
