This is Shokoji Nursery School Niiza Ishigami Garden.
This is what the 2023 Obon Festival will look like.

A group of two-year-old children worked together to create a large watermelon portable shrine.

On this day, we went to present Cocofan with the fans that everyone had made.

Everyone welcomed us warmly and was delighted with the watermelon fans, which has made us really look forward to the Obon Festival.

And then the Obon festival began. First, we did yo-yo fishing. We found yo-yos of our favorite colors and scooped them up.

Next, they go outside and the two-year-olds begin preparing the mikoshi. This marks the beginning of intergenerational exchange.

At the signal of a whistle, people shout "Wasshoi, wasshoi" and carry the floats.

We all joined forces and carried it powerfully.

I did 3 laps around the parking lot. It was amazing!

Next, everyone danced the Bon Odori song "Kuwagata Ondo" together.

The parents and Cocofan users burst into applause.

We went inside Cocofan and had a gaming tournament. They prepared three different games for us.

The children enjoyed playing games with their moms and received hands full of lovely handmade prizes.

We went back to the garden and ate delicious watermelon together. It was delicious!

I think it was especially good because my throat was dry.

Thank you very much everyone.
