We'd like to introduce you to the 2022 Sports Day!
In recent years, due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, it has been difficult to invite parents to school events, but starting with this year's sports day, we have decided to invite parents to attend.
The staff were nervous as it had been a while since we had last had parents participate in an event, but once it started it was a friendly and enjoyable event that staff, parents, and children all enjoyed together!
The one-year-olds enjoyed physical play, exploring the world of hungry caterpillars, including playing on a single-plank bridge, sliding down a desk, and feeding fruit to a model caterpillar!

The two-year-olds climbed up the high platform using the shelves and crossed the stepping stones with their parents. And because the children love trains, the Itabashi Ekimae Nursery School has photos of the children's faces on its "Suica" (also known as "Itaka" cards). They searched for two Itaka cards with their own photos with their mom and dad, found them, and when they reached the crossing, the crossing opened with a "beep", and at the end, they all rode on the beloved Doctor Yellow with their mom and dad to the finish line!

The event proceeded in a harmonious atmosphere from start to finish, with children and parents who were not on their turn cheering them on with "Do your best!" and applauding when they did well, which made us realize once again how much we are always supported by the warmth of our parents.

At the end of the event, they received medals and souvenirs as proof of their efforts, and everyone said "Thank you!" with a look of delight on their faces! The whole kindergarten became warm and cheerful at the sports day!
At our nursery school, we place importance on children's independence, so we don't have everyone learn the same dance for sports day or line up in their own place and do something.Instead, we hold sports day as an opportunity for the children to enjoy the sports and activities that they are currently interested in and enjoying during their time at daycare, together with their parents.

As a result, the children can enjoy themselves with lively smiles on their faces, and I believe we have created an environment where they can voluntarily participate in sports day.
Going forward, in addition to daily childcare, we would like to continue to work together as a team to plan and implement various events throughout the year in a way that allows the children to take an active role and get involved in them on their own initiative, rather than simply forcing them to do the childcare and events.
