[Yoshidachoen] Tanabata Party

Hello. This is Yoshidachoen.

July 7th was Tanabata. We held a Tanabata party at the nursery school.
Leading up to the day of the Tanabata party, the children sang songs in class, made crafts to decorate their rooms, and wrote wishes on paper strips, allowing each child to feel the Tanabata atmosphere and look forward to the day.

The Tanabata party started with a black panel theater. The children were curious about the black panel theater, which they had never seen before, but listened intently to the origins of Tanabata. When asked, "What is this person's name?", they answered, "Orihime!" and "Hikoboshi!"

Afterwards, each class will present their Tanabata creations!

The newborns made kimonos by stamping with paint on their fingers. Between the two figures of Orihime and Hikoboshi, they pasted strips of paper written by their parents.

The one-year-olds made the faces of Orihime and Hikoboshi out of stickers, and the bodies of the kimonos were made from plastic bottles filled with food coloring, water, and glitter in liquid glue. When the children were shown the glittery parts of the plastic bottles, they looked at the sparkling glitter (kimono) with wide eyes and a mysterious look.

The two-year-olds drew their own faces with pens and painted lace paper for their clothes. They also made diamond decorations, and it was impressive to see them sticking lots of them on while enjoying the feel of the glue. They then wrote their own wishes on the handmade Milky Way, and it was complete.

After an introduction to the production, the much-anticipated story of Tanabata, a black panel theater, begins.

The children's eyes widen as they see the black panel theater for the first time. The lights go out, a "snap" sound is heard, and glowing bamboo leaves appear!

We asked two-year-olds to help with tying paper strips, diamond decorations, and streamers onto bamboo leaves.
Some children were wondering, "Where should I put it?" while others said, "I'll put it here!" and had fun decorating.

We enjoyed the theater show while watching the fluorescent panels glowing to the tune of Tanabata♪

Finally, we took a commemorative photo in front of the tanzaku written by the parents!

I hope that everyone's wishes at Shokoji Nursery School come true.
