[Hatogayaen] Obon Festival

The Shokoji Nursery School Hatogaya branch held an Obon Festival.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 prevention measures, parents were not able to attend this year's event.

The number of large events where parents and children can interact together has decreased, so in order to allow parents and children to have as much fun together as possible, a joint parent-child project was created at the entrance of the building.

We set off big fireworks.

Parents also cooperated by making handprints to look like fireworks when their children were dismissed from school.

Small hand-shaped fireworks made by the children and larger hand-shaped fireworks made by the parents and staff were launched into a spectacular display.

On the day, the whole kindergarten was filled with a festival atmosphere! We played shopkeepers with festival music playing in the background.

"Welcome!" cries echo throughout the store, as children sell homemade yakisoba noodles, shaved ice, and candy apples.

I take a bite of the shaved ice I bought at a store. It looks delicious!

This is the yo-yo fishing corner. The kids are taking on the challenge with serious expressions on their faces!

This is the 1 year old class.

She said "Welcome!" elegantly, wearing the twisted headband that was all the rage in the class.

At the end, we also tried out the gachapon machine. We were curious to see what would come out!

Once the large "Hatogaya Fireworks" was completed, which was immediately visible upon entering the entrance, the children became even more excited.

I also heard conversations like, "The Bon Festival is coming soon!" and "I'm looking forward to it!"

On the day, the area was bustling with the sound of festival music in the background and energetic calls of "Welcome!"

All the children in the nursery, from 0 to 5 years old, interacted with each other, making it a fun and lively Obon festival.

We hope to get all parents involved next year!
