The Segaki ceremony was solemnly held on July 17, 2020.
This year, in light of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony was held with only monks in attendance.
We offered prayers for our ancestors and for the eradication of the epidemic, and the ceremony was carried out without any problems.
We tried to take photographs and video footage to record the event, but because we were a small group, it was difficult to keep up.
It was a day where I reflected on the need to be able to respond flexibly even under these circumstances.
