As you step into the temple grounds, a faint sweet fragrance fills the air. The plum trees are full of plums, more noticeable than usual. According to the gardener, this year is a good harvest nationwide. The staff are carefully picking up the plums one by one to make plum juice and plum wine to serve to the public.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just after noon, when it was about to start the sutra copying session, a sudden rain started to fall, pounding the ground. Parents and children who had been playing happily in the temple grounds disappeared, like scattering children of the clouds, on their way home.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was a little worried that those looking forward to today's sutra copying session would slow down, but 12 people, some carrying umbrellas, quickly entered the main hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000In this sutra copying session, we reaffirmed the importance of "enjoying our training." Six months have passed since the sutra copying session resumed, and it seems that everyone has become accustomed to the task of reaffirming themselves through introspection. In the prayers, people write not just requests, but also the contents of each reaffirmation, renewing their resolve until the next sutra copying session.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the time the sutra copying session finished, the rain had stopped and the sounds of people chanting Buddhist prayers could be heard from within the temple grounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
