It's getting warmer day by day, and spring is approaching, but how are you all doing? Shokoji Temple will be holding its monthly memorial service in April on the following dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Date: Sunday, April 6th<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time: 9:00am (approximately 20 minutes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Location: Shokoji Temple Main Hall<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At our monthly memorial service, we will hold joint memorial services according to your wishes, such as "stupa memorial service," "memorial service for the consecration of a memorial tablet," and "memorial service for a doll." As a nembutsu dojo, Shokoji prioritizes chanting nembutsu, while also placing importance on living each day peacefully and enriching one's life both physically and mentally. Another major feature is that, in addition to nembutsu, we also have time for introspection, where one can face oneself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

What you can gain from participating<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Memorial services allow you to remember the deceased and those you cherished, and provide an opportunity to reexamine your daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 In addition to chanting the Nembutsu, you can calm your mind through introspection and take the time to face yourself deeply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 This is an open ceremony that not only parishioners but also the general public can feel free to participate in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please feel free to join us if you have no particular object of remembrance but would like to reflect on yourself or spend some quiet time. It may be an opportunity to regain some peace of mind in your family, workplace, friendships, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

If you are unable to attend on the day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The monthly memorial service is a joint ceremony in which everyone gathers together to perform services, but if you are unable to attend on the day and would like to perform only the memorial service, we can accommodate you. If you let us know in advance what you would like to do, we will perform the service on your behalf, so please rest assured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
