By practicing the practice, Ananda was able to save the hungry ghosts from suffering and also achieve longevity himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The thing we need to pay attention to in this story is nothing other than gratitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The feelings of a mother (guardian) who is willing to even commit a crime for her beloved child. The mercy of Shakyamuni Buddha who guides her when she is at her wit&#039;s end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to recognize that it is thanks to such people that we are able to survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In modern times, if we look around us, we see a variety of infrastructures that we take for granted. How shameful it is to take for granted that we are able to live such comfortable lives every day thanks to the efforts of many people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We should be grateful for all the things we take for granted, and live our lives to the fullest so that we can give back even a little. Giving alms to hungry ghosts is nothing but a symbol of living our lives to the fullest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this Segaki ceremony, people can introspect and reaffirm the importance of gratitude, which will improve the quality of their lives going forward and lead to happier lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Segaki ceremony at Shokoji Temple, we hold memorial services for the hungry ghosts and offer prayers for their long and healthy lives.
