We would like to report that we held our sutra copying event in September.
As the month changed, the sunlight became a little milder and the breeze felt pleasant on the day.

At Shokoji Temple, we place great importance on chanting the Nembutsu.
Even at sutra copying sessions, we recite the Nembutsu at the beginning and end.
This month, the head priest talked about "Why do we chant the Nembutsu?"

In the Jodo sect, it is believed that all kinds of merits are contained in chanting the Nembutsu.
We will all leave this world someday,
By chanting the Nembutsu and reflecting on it while we are alive, we can all go to the Pure Land at the end.

Honen Shonin also left behind these words.
"While alive, I will chant the Nembutsu. When I die, I will go to the Pure Land. But even so, if I think that there is nothing to worry about in this body, then I will have no worries in either life or death."

There are many difficult things in life, but I always need to reflect on myself.
If we can meet again in paradise when we die someday, I feel like I can do my best tomorrow too.
After the sermon, the head priest recited a sutra, and at the end we all chanted the Nembutsu together.

Everyone seemed to be able to calm down and concentrate.
